Where is the economy going? For those who think the economy is good, here is an e-mail I received today from a corporation.
Unemployment is now on the rise in the U.S., which was inevitable with Obama's socialist policies, because due to onerous high corporate taxes small to mid-sized companies like our own have not hired in over a year. They have hidden this fact in the numbers, but now with oil companies and manufacturing companies and banks laying off tens of thousands at a time, they will no longer be able to hide it. Some will say this is not a trend yet, but we know better. It may not be a proven trend, but it is the beginning of one.

As you can see the government is not working to help the economy, it is pushing for more and more regulations; regulations that restrict businesses. Businesses are not going to hire more people if they can not make a profit. The more a business, regardless of size, has to pay to employ people, them less employees they will hire. If you wan tot take away money from a business, then the business will certainly  downsize. We've all seen how that worked in 2008 and 2009, and we are still feeling the effects. Many have seen this in the 1970's and late 1980's.

In the current political campaigns both Clinton and Sanders want to enact even more restrictive regulations on businesses. This is bad for the economy no matter what they do. We need people in office who know how to operate a business. Lincoln knew how to operate a business and during his time, despite the civil war, the economy grew. Reagan, during the 1980's, deregulated businesses and the economy grew. After he was out of office the economy went down.

Don't believe the political advertisements on television. Study the economy and understand how it works. If businesses can make a profit, they can hire more employees. The Democratic candidates are all talking about putting restrictions on businesses, big businesses, and anyone who has money. Just think about the Obama care. Everyone has to pay a fine for not having health insurance; this includes the homeless and destitute. Think about what they will go through if they could get a job and then file their taxes, expecting a refund, only to get a letter saying they owe hundreds of thousands of dollars for not having health insurance all their years of homelessness.

With Socialism individuals don't own property. All property and money belongs to everyone. This is why distribution of wealth is vitally important. With Communism it is Socialism at its extreme. You war told what to do and how to do it. Socialism allows some personal freedom in where you want to live and work, but Communism takes these last freedoms away.

Anytime you hear some political candidates talking about taking money from the wealthy or fair share, think Socialist or Communist. This is what you are voting for; what kind of America do you want to see emerge?

There is much debate between Christians and Jews about how to get to Heaven. Jews believe that all who obey a set of moral laws deserve a place in Heaven. These laws apply to all people, not just Jews. Even in the Bible God states several times there is one law for all peoples. Here are a couple of examples: Deuteronomy 31:12: Gather everyone- men, women, children, and the foreigners who live among you, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the Lord your God, and observe to do all the words of this law.
Leviticus 18:26: But all of you must keep my rules and my regulations. You must not do any of these detestable things, neither citizen nor immigrant who lives with you.

Christians, on the other hand, believe that faith in Jesus is the only path to Heaven. But you may wonder about why Christians are quick to state aspects of God's law for different areas in life. Most of the laws Christians are stating are only found in the Old Testament.

Example:
In recent history, and still a topic of concern, is the homosexual agenda. Why are Christians so concerned? The law comes from Leviticus 20:13: If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them.
This law is clear, homosexuality is wrong. Jesus did not come to destroy the law, and because of this Christians still prefer to uphold God's law as stated in the Old Testament.

The New Testament begins with the coming of Jesus, covers His life and ministry, and His death and resurrection. It is true the New Testament does say the law does not get you into Heaven. The Old Testament did state following God's laws is good for long life.

Deuteronomy 6:1-2: "These are the commands, decrees, and regulations that the LORD your God commanded me to teach you. You must obey them in the land you are about to enter and occupy, and you and your children and grandchildren must fear the LORD your God as long as you live. If you obey all his decrees and commands, you will enjoy a long life.
John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

So then who is correct? The answer is right there in the Bible. Living by the law does not get you into Heaven, nor does accepting Jesus gives you permission to go out and commit crimes in this life. God's law is for all people world wide to live by in this life, and the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the way into Heaven.

God's laws are for our good, to bring long life. Many people think we don't need to follow God's laws simply because they are first listed, and mostly listed, in the Old Testament. But this is wrong. If we follow God's laws, we do what is right in God's eyes.

Keep his decrees and commands, which I am giving you today, so that it may go well with you and your children after you and that you may live long in the land the LORD your God gives you for all time.
Deuteronomy 4:40, NIV

When George Washington was inaugurated as America's first president, his inaugural address included these words: . . . the [favorable] smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.

That sounds suspiciously like what Moses told the people of Israel as they prepared to enter the Promised Land. He reminded them that God's laws, God's eternal rules of order and right would be the foundation of the long life they were promised in that land. Live by God's words and you will live long. Ignore God's words and you will not. America was founded on God's words and applied them, and America was prosperous. In our time, many Americans have been pushing God out of America and abandoning God's laws, now this is a strugling  nation. Just look at the economy, our constant involvement in wars, even when the president threatened Isarel in 2011, god sent and earthquakes and storms against Washington D.C.

We need to apply the law the way George Washington did. God's principles of order and right cannot be ignored individually or nationally. National survival and revival depend on individuals ordering their lives according to God's Word.

Let that revival begin with you. Order your life today according to God's revealed Word and will.

I choose to follow God's laws. Do you?
